This was a 12th century parish church, but became almost derelict at the start of the 19th century. Marvellously, its parish priest then rebuilt it in 1852 with his own funds -he did an amazingly good job.
Sadly, despite having a village the church became disused again, was deconsecrated and the property transferred to the Friends of Friendless Churches in 2010. They are to be congratulated -twenty years ago, demolition would have been routine.Added December 30, 2018 by Basil Watkins
